Our Mission

The Heroes' Build combats homelessness and advances economic self-sufficiency among veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, emergency telecommunicators and dispatchers, and the families of each, throughout the Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin tri-state region.

We pursue that purpose through vocational and trade instruction, therapeutic craft and trade programming, housing stability services including home repair and rehabilitation, trauma informed care and peer support, and a community center open to everyone we serve.

We are guided by a single conviction. No one is ever alone. A person who spent a career showing up for everyone else deserves to have somebody show up for them, and a person who has forgotten who they are deserves a place that helps them remember.

Our Founders

Mac Brock - President

Mac Brock is the co-founder and President of The Heroes' Build. He interned with a county sheriff's office, served as a volunteer firefighter, and holds a degree in police administration with a minor in forensic science. He has spent the better part of a decade building on that foundation with additional certifications, including training through FEMA and Homeland Security. Mac also runs Mac-Nificent, a custom fabrication and engraving business, and serves as a historian and Master Mason with Olive Branch No. 6 in New Diggings, Wisconsina

Jerry "Sliver" Brimeyer - Vice President

Jerry "Sliver" Brimeyer is the co-founder and Vice President of The Heroes' Build. With a background in construction, Jerry spent more than a decade organizing Shenanigans events, benefits, and fundraisers that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for military organizations before co-founding The Heroes' Build to carry that commitment forward. He has contributed meaningfully to the veteran community time and again, and that standing trust is part of the foundation this organization was built on.
